A federal judge in Texas has temporarily blocked the Biden administration order placing a 100 day freeze on deporting people inside the U.S. illegally. U.S. District Judge Drew Tipton issued the block sought in a suit filed last week by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. The suit alleges Biden’s order is unconstitutional and violates an agreement between the Department of Homeland Security and Texas. Judge Tipton argued that the Biden administration had failed “to provide any concrete, reasonable justification for a 100-day pause on deportations.”

The Judge’s order will be in place for 14 days as the state of Texas and the Biden admin. further litigate the issue. On Twitter, AG Paxton proclaimed it was “VICTORY” for Texas to be the first state to win a lawsuit against the Biden administration. “Within 6 days of Biden’s inauguration, Texas has HALTED his illegal deportation freeze.
