Emails obtained by the non-profit Parents Defending Education reveal that the National School Board Association sought help from President Biden and the federal government to silence critics of critical race theory in public education, weeks before Attorney General Merrick Garland opened an FBI probe into CRT critics at the direction of a letter from the NSBA that likened them to terrorists.

The internal NSBA emails reveal some educators affiliated with the left-wing organization were skeptical of the notion of labeling CRT’s critics as terrorists, a concern that was ignored by the group’s national leadership.

In an email sent on October 2nd, Viola Garcia, Secretary-Treasurer of the NSBA, revealed the group had been coordinating with the White House on opposition to CRT. “NSBA has been engaged with the White House and the Department of Education on these and other issues related to the pandemic for several weeks now.” Garcia went on to dismiss opposition to the NSBA’s letter seeking political prosecution of its opponents by invoking the supposed threat of violence concerned parents pose to left-wing school boards, despite no more than a small handful of arrests occurring at board meetings, usually of parents for interrupting proceedings.
