A Houston mother and public school teacher has been charged after police say she locked her 13-year-old son in the trunk of her vehicle while they waited to receive a COVID-19 test. The mother said her child was in quarantine.

Police say they were alerted on January 3, after Sarah Beam pulled into a drive-thru COVID test site and a witness reported seeing something move in her trunk.

The witness apparently instructed Beam to open her trunk.

Authorities say that Beam eventually opened the trunk, revealing her 13-year-old son. Read more…
