Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) recently expressed her endorsement for Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) as the Speaker of the House, emphasizing his unwavering focus on conducting essential investigations to reclaim control of America’s government. Speaking on Breitbart News Saturday with host Matthew Boyle, Hageman outlined her reasons for supporting Jordan’s candidacy to replace the former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
Hageman voiced her pride in endorsing Jordan for Speaker, citing their collaboration on the Judiciary and Weaponization Committees’ investigations into the Biden administration’s alleged weaponization of the federal government. According to her, their work has unveiled violations of Americans’ First Amendment rights, criticized Attorney General Merrick Garland, and exposed alleged corruption within the Biden family. Hageman emphasized Jordan’s dedication to addressing these issues, which she believes are crucial for reclaiming control of the government.
The endorsement from Hageman comes in contrast to former Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-WY) stance. Cheney, known for her neoconservative and anti-Trump views, warned against Jordan’s election as Speaker, claiming it would undermine the Constitution’s defense by elected Republicans. Hageman argued that Cheney’s perspective lacks popular support, signaling a shift away from her brand of conservatism and asserting that Cheney does not grasp the Constitution.
Hageman also mentioned that the race for Speaker has delayed House Republicans’ efforts to pass their 12 appropriations bills by approximately two weeks. This highlights the ongoing reliance on omnibus spending bills rather than the passage of individual appropriations bills, a practice that has persisted since the mid-1990s.
